Emergency Services

Of the 220 NHS Trusts in England, the 10 Ambulance Trusts have the highest incidence of musculoskeletal disorders with 40% of staffing reporting a musculoskeletal disorder within the last 12 months as a result of work.

This is a wellbeing crisis and is unsustainable.

The cost of absence is crippling NHS Trusts and musculoskeletal disorders are one of the highest causes.

The human cost of long-term back-pain is only measureable by the millions of people in the UK who live with it, who can’t work, or sleep, or pick up their grandchildren.

BACK-TRACK retrains people to reduce the wear and tear on their back and reduce their exposure to activities or tasks that increase their susceptibility to injury in the future.

Following a very successful pilot with an NHS Ambulance Trust, demonstrating significant reduction is undesirable lifting and patient handling postures AND a significant reduction in MSK related absence, BACK-TRACK is being implemented witin the first pilot trust and being considered by multiple other Trusts.

Our goal - to bring BACK-TRACK to the 210 non- Ambulance NHS Trusts and slow the wear and tear process within the NHS workforce.

BACK-TRACK aligns perfectly with the govenment’s 10-year plan for the NHS.
