BACK-TRACK Claims
BACK-TRACK provides a breakthrough solution that's proven to effectively shape employee behavior and reduce safety risks. Companies in many industries whose workers routinely handle objects that could lead to back strain and injuries report fewer and less severe back issues when using the BACK-TRACK system. As a result, these companies experience greater worker productivity, fewer lost days due to back problems, and a safer overall workplace.
Caveats
While BACK-TRACK can help you identify potential risks, it isn't suitable for all tasks and situations. BACK-TRACK:
- Doesn't identify risks associated with upper limb disorders
- Doesn't identify the specific risks associated with pushing or pulling
- Can't identify twisting movements and therefore can't quantify them separately
- Can't consider the load being handled, or the environment where the task is being carried out
- Won't know if some individuals have pre-existing leg or knee conditions that prevent them from using the recommended lifting and handling techniques
- Needs to be positioned just behind the hip bone (preferably attached to a belt) for maximum performance
